In order to extend the service life of diesel generator sets , Haixing reminds users to pay special attention to the maintenance work of diesel generator sets in winter. Only by paying attention to the impact of cold climate on the generator set during daily use in winter can the diesel generator set be protected from damage.
1: Avoid choosing fuel at will. The low temperature in winter makes the fluidity of diesel worse, the viscosity increases, and it is not easy to dissipate, resulting in poor atomization, deterioration of combustion, and deterioration of the power and economic performance of the diesel engine. Therefore, light diesel should be used in winter with low cooldown points and good ignition performance. It is generally required that the defrost point of the diesel engine should be 7-10℃ lower than the local current seasonal temperature.
2: Use open flame to help ignite. The air filter cannot be removed, and then ignite it with cotton yarn dipped in diesel, and then made into a ignition object and placed in the intake pipe to assist in the combustion start. In this way, during the startup process, the dust-containing air from the outside will be directly sucked into the cylinder without filtering, causing abnormal wear of the pistons, cylinders and other parts, and causing the diesel engine to work roughly and damage the machine.
3: Release water too early or do not release cooling water. Run at idle speed before turning off the heat, and wait until the cooling water temperature drops below 60℃ and the water is not hot, then turn off the heat and release the water. If the cooling water is released too early, the body will suddenly be attacked by cold air when the temperature is high, and it will cause sudden shrinkage and cracks. When water is released, the remaining water in the body should be discharged to prevent it from freezing and expanding, causing the body to swell.
4: Bake the oil pan over open flame. In order to avoid deteriorating the oil in the oil pan, even burning, reducing or losing lubricating performance, thereby aggravating machine wear. In winter, low-cooling point engine oil should be used. When starting, the engine oil temperature can be increased by heating with the outside water bath.
5: Improper startup method. In winter, in order to quickly start the diesel generator set, some drivers often use abnormal starting method of waterless start (starting first, then adding cooling water). This practice will cause serious damage to the machine and should be prohibited. The correct preheating method is: first cover the insulation quilt on the water tank, open the water discharge valve, and continuously inject 60-70℃ of clean soft water into the water tank. When the water flowing out of the water discharge valve feels hot when touching the water discharge valve with your hands, then close the water discharge valve, pour 90-100℃ of clean soft water into the water tank, and shake the crankshaft to make each moving piece properly prelubricated, and then start it.
6: Low temperature load operation. After the diesel generator set started and caught fire, some drivers couldn't wait to put in load operations immediately. For diesel engines that catch fire, due to the low body temperature and high viscosity of the oil, the oil is not easy to fill the friction surface of the sports pair, which will cause serious wear of the machine. In addition, the plunger spring, valve spring and fuel injector spring are also prone to break due to 'cold and crisp'. Therefore, after the diesel engine starts and catches fire in winter, it should idly at low and medium speed for a few minutes, and then put into load operation when the cooling water temperature reaches 60℃.
7: Do not pay attention to body insulation. The temperature in winter is low, which can easily cause the diesel engine to be over-cooled when working. Therefore, insulation is the key to making good use of diesel generator sets in winter. In the northern region, diesel generator sets used in winter should be equipped with cold-proof equipment such as insulation covers and insulation curtains.
