The fuel tank isGenerator setThe fuel storage container is made of stamped and welded steel plates. Its inner surface is usually treated with anti-rust treatment, and the interior is generally divided into more spaces with partitions. The part above the fuel tank is the filler port, and below it is the filter. In order to avoid a vacuum inside the fuel tank during use, a vent hole is usually drilled in the upper part of the fuel tank cap. There is a drain port at the bottom of the fuel tank.
According to Haixing Power’s summary, the fuel tank is also a vulnerable part of the generator set. So what are the common problems and how to deal with them? Let’s take a look.
Easily damaged parts of the fuel tank
The parts that are easily damaged during long-term use of the fuel tank are the welding joints of the oil outlet pipe inside the tank and the welding points on the outside. When there are weak welds or blisters in the internal welding parts, it will cause the diesel engine to run unstable or shut down during operation. In addition, if there are too many impurities at the bottom of the fuel tank, the above phenomenon will also occur.
Causes of fuel tank damage
The reasons for the failure of welding parts of the fuel tank to have weak welds or blisters are that the welding quality of the manufacturer is not up to standard or there is large vibration during transportation.
Repair after damaged fuel tank
When the welding part of the oil outlet pipe inside the fuel tank is welded or has air leakage, the oil outlet pipe should be removed from the outside of the tank, and then the oil outlet pipe inside the tank should be removed. After the oil flow pipe is damaged, it can generally be welded by brazing. After welding, the sealing of the oil outlet pipe should be checked.
When there is a weak weld or blisters in the external welding part of the fuel tank, ordinary welding rods can be used for welding, but the diesel oil inside the fuel tank must be removed during welding.
Paying attention to the quality of diesel and doing a good job in fuel storage and filtration can also play a role in protecting the fuel tank. If impurities are deposited at the bottom of the fuel tank, they must be cleaned in time.
