when dieselGenerator setOverheating will increase the temperature of the engine oil, destroying the normal lubrication effect, threatening the normal operation of the diesel generator set, and in severe cases, causing safety accidents.
Below we analyze the main causes of diesel engine overheating:
1. Cooling system failure:
Lack of water in the radiator;
The water pump impeller is damaged or blocked by sludge or debris;
There are air bubbles in the water pipes forming air locks;
There is serious scale in the cooling system, or the water channel is blocked;
The fan belt is loose and the fan efficiency decreases;
There is serious scale inside the radiator and there is a lot of dirt on the external surface, which greatly reduces the heat dissipation efficiency.
2. Failure in combustion process
The intake and exhaust valves are not closed tightly and the valve clearance is too small;
There is too much carbon deposit in the combustion chamber and poor heat conduction, so the heat in the cylinder cannot be transferred to the cooling water, causing the internal temperature of the cylinder to be very high;
The oil supply amount of each cylinder is uneven, and the oil supply amount of individual cylinders is too large, causing local cylinder overheating;
If the fuel supply advance angle is too small, the diesel engine will produce afterburning, causing the diesel engine to become severely heated.
3. Improper use and maintenance
The diesel engine runs overloaded for a long time, causing the temperature of the diesel engine to be too high;
Due to the blockage of the lubricating oil circuit, the oil pressure drops and the oil volume is small, resulting in poor lubrication;
Dry friction occurs on the lubricated surface, causing a sharp increase in local temperature.
4. Generator failure
The insulation of the stator core is damaged, causing an inter-piece short circuit, causing the local eddy current loss of the core to increase and generate heat. In severe cases, the stator winding will be damaged and the parallel wires of the stator winding will break, causing the current of other wires to increase and generate heat.
The above are the causes of overheating failures of diesel generator sets that need to be vigilant in summer. While preventing equipment from overheating, it is also necessary to do a good job in preventing and cooling personnel to carry out production operations and power supply production.
