As we all know, generator set cylinders are one of the vulnerable components, and common damage is corrosion and wear. When the cylinder block is directly in contact with high-temperature and high-pressure gas, and when the piston reciprocates at high speed, the cylinder wall working surface bears a large lateral pressure and the resulting periodic force. If used and maintained improperly, it is easy to cause premature wear of the engine cylinder wall.
Why are cylinders prone to corrosion and wear? How to avoid such corrosion?
The corrosion of the cylinder liner of the diesel generator set is the damage caused by the electrochemical action of acid substances. When the wall temperature of the cylinder liner is low, the water vapor entering the cylinder will condense into water droplets. These water droplets interact with combustion gases to form acids, such as organic acids, sulfuric acid, carbonic acid, etc., which condense on the cylinder wall to corrode the cylinder. Practice has proved that when the cooling water temperature is lower than 65-70℃, or when the diesel engine starts frequently at low temperatures, corrosion and wear will increase significantly. Therefore, during use, pay attention to the control of the cooling water temperature and minimize the number of times the cold car starts.
Doing daily maintenance operations is one of the ways to avoid cylinder wear. Haixing Power hopes that everyone will establish a complete operating specification and maintenance system, insist on implementation and strictly complete it, so that the generator set can achieve its due effect and operate normally to power.
