Routine maintenance and emergency starting procedures for diesel generator sets

1. Daily inspection and maintenance of emergency generator sets

1. Conduct a no-load start-up test of the emergency generator on the third Monday of every month.

2. Inspect and record the generator room and machine body every week.

3. The unit should be started and run for no less than 20 minutes each time to ensure lubrication of the moving parts of the unit.

4. Check the tightness of the box wire, neutral wire and ground wire of the generator set

5. Routine inspection content

1) Check the fuel level in the fuel tank.

2) Check the engine oil level of the diesel engine.

3) Check the liquid level in the water tank.

4) Check oil, gas and water pipes for leaks.

5) Check the tightening condition of the connecting bolts of various accessories of the diesel engine.

6) Check the wire connection of the electrical instrument.

7) Check whether there is any abnormality in each instrument.

8) Check whether there is oil leakage on the connecting flange surface of the fuel injection pump.

9) Clean the generator set and ancillary equipment.

10) Clean the diesel engine oil-water separator once every three months.

2. Routine battery maintenance

1. Make sure the battery pack is fully charged (above 24V).

2. Clean the battery surface to ensure that the battery is clean and free of foreign matter and the wiring posts are free of corrosion.

3. Diesel engine air, fuel and oil filters

1. The air filter should be cleaned every 72 hours of operation. If the filter element is found to be damaged, it should be replaced in time.

2. After the generator has been running for 100 hours or if the fuel supply is not smooth, the fuel filter should be cleaned in time. If it is difficult to clean or damaged, replace it in time.

3. Clean the oil filter every 200 hours of operation of the generator set. If any damage is found, replace it in time.

4. Replace the engine oil every 500 hours of operation of the generator set.

4. Emergency start

1. After receiving a power outage notice, be ready 30 minutes before the power outage. Start the generator set 5 minutes before the power outage. If there is an external power outage, first cut off the external incoming power line and switch to emergency generator set power supply.

2. After external power is received, promptly cut off the power supply of the emergency generator set and convert it to external power.

3. After the emergency generator is shut down, check whether the equipment is abnormal, whether there is any abnormal noise in the auxiliary equipment, and whether there are other abnormalities to complete the emergency power generation.
