For new or long-term generators that are not used for normal operation, they must undergo strict inspections, mainly check the winding insulation, wiring conditions, etc. If there is any inconsistency, they will be handled. After the diesel engine is started, the speed is slowly increased. After inspection and confirmation, no-load operation from low speed to rated speed can be carried out. When running at no load, focus on checking the oil pressure, whether there are abnormal noises, excitation current, three-phase voltage changes, etc. If there are abnormal conditions, the machine should be stopped immediately for inspection. After finding out the situation, start again. If normal, it can be put into normal operation. The operator must closely monitor the changes in the instrument on the control screen, whether it is within the permitted scope, and make corresponding adjustments.
During operation, the operator should maintain a safe distance from the live equipment and wear labor protection equipment. Pay attention to the order of reverse switch operation. If the power outage is not allowed, first disconnect the branch switch, then disconnect the main switch, and then switch the position of the four-pole double-tap knife switch. When power is sent, the order is carried out in the opposite order. When shutting down normally, you should first remove part of the load, then turn off the main switch, and then turn off the diesel engine. It is not allowed to not pull off the main switch, and the power will be cut off as the diesel engine turns off. After shutdown, perform routine inspections on the unit and record the operation status.
In case of electric shock, the power switch should be cut off quickly, or the power supply should be quickly cut off or disconnected from the power supply with an insulator. Then rescue is carried out and the doctor is invited to the scene to rescue. In case of flooding of electrical equipment, the relevant power supply should be cut off immediately, reported to the local power supply station, and then fire is put out. Dry fire extinguishers, carbon dioxide fire extinguishers, etc. should be used to extinguish fires with live equipment, and water is not allowed.
New or newly overhauled diesel units must be run for 60 hours in accordance with regulations and are maintained accordingly.
The above contents are all points to pay attention to when using diesel generators. Please note that operators must be familiar with the unit structure and master the safety operating procedures.
