First, why do we need to excite the generator set? What are the benefits of doing this?
In order to improve the stability of the generator operating system, the voltage can quickly return to normal state after the short circuit failover. When the voltage drops to the corresponding value, the excitation energy of the generator will increase immediately, so the generator must implement forced excitation.

Second, what factors are restricted by the time of strong incentives?
The strong excitation action is that the relay automatically shorts the magnetic field adjustment resistance of the exciter circuit, or the automatic adjustment excitation device of the generator set automatically and quickly adjusts the exciter to operate at the maximum voltage, and supply the generator set with sufficient excitation current to the generator set.
The forced excitation of the generator can only play its due role when the strong excitation multiple is higher, the excitation voltage rises faster, and the strong excitation time is sufficient. Therefore, when the excitation of the generator is added to the maximum value due to the strong excitation, the strong excitation action shall not be interfered with within 1 minute. After 1 minute, measures should be taken immediately to reduce the generator stator and rotor current to the normally allowed value.

Third, what are the dangers of not returning after a forced action? How should it be handled?
After the strong excitation operation, if it does not return, the magnetic field resistance will be shorted for a long time. When the generator is running normally, the rotor will withstand a very high voltage and be damaged.
According to the generator operating status, on the premise of ensuring normal operation, the forced excitation device that does not return can be cut off, the cause can be found, and the fault can be eliminated before starting operation.
