The National Development and Reform Commission decided to increase the price of gasoline and diesel by 500 yuan and 400 yuan per ton from 0:00 on April 7, and increase the price of gasoline and diesel by 0.37 yuan and 0.34 yuan per liter, respectively. This is the second time that domestic refined oil prices have been raised this year. This is a concern for many automobile and generator set users. It is a good way to reduce the amount of engine fuel use when fuel prices cannot be controlled.

If the engine fuel consumption is too high, the cause should be carefully checked and eliminated to ensure the normal operation of the generator set . The main reasons for high fuel consumption are as follows:
1. Due to oil leakage in the generator set or engine. The front oil seal of the engine crankshaft leaks, and there are many such faults. The crankshaft oil seal is a skeleton rubber oil seal, and oil leakage occurs due to installation and quality problems of the oil seal. It is recommended to change the installation method and use imported crankshaft front oil seal or oil seal provided by the manufacturer. The changed installation method is: disassemble the oil seal seat, install the oil seal and install the machine.
2. Oil leaks at the compressor end of the supercharger. Some users do not maintain the vehicle as required, and the air filter is seriously blocked, causing excessive workload, forming a pressure drop from the air filter to the intake pipe. Due to the pressure drop, leakage occurs at the compressor end of the supercharger. Therefore, attention should be paid to cleaning and replacing the air filter element to ensure smooth air intake. Some users do not pay attention to the use of the supercharger, and start the car in the morning and slam the accelerator before turning off the engine. These operations are very likely to cause damage to the supercharger oil seal, resulting in oil leakage, causing an increase in engine fuel consumption.
3. Too much oil filling. Due to the blind filling of engine oil, the pressure in the crankcase is too high, causing leakage of each part. Therefore, when filling the oil, you should pay attention to adding it to the upper part of the oil scale and the upper part of the lower limit.
4. The air filter is blocked, causing excessive fuel consumption. Because the air filter is not cleaned and replaced during use, the safety filter element is blocked due to contamination of water and oil marks, and the air intake is not smooth. The crankcase exhaust gas and engine oil are sucked into the cylinder in large quantities, resulting in excessive fuel consumption. It should be noted that when the vehicle is traveling 12,000km for secondary maintenance, the external filter element of the air filter should be replaced once every six months. The air filter should be cleaned for each maintenance. For engineering vehicles, maintenance time should be shortened according to the conditions of use.
5. The oil grade does not meet the requirements. If you choose ordinary diesel engine oil, if the viscosity is too small, it will also cause excessive oil consumption, which can easily lead to early wear and burnout of the bearing shell. Please do not use ordinary diesel engine oil.
6. Blockage of oil and gas separator is also the reason for excessive fuel consumption. The crankcase exhaust pipe is connected to the oil and gas separator. The oil and gas separator can maintain the oil with good lubricating performance, extend the service life of the oil, maintain the good surface state of each lubricating friction pair, reduce wear and corrosion of the machine parts, keep the pressure in the body and the external air pressure basically equal, reduce oil leakage, and enable the mixed waste gas to be recycled, improve the economics of the engine and reduce environmental pollution. The ventilation device of the crankcase should be cleaned frequently during maintenance to prevent blockage.
7. The air compressor piston, piston ring and cylinder wall are seriously worn, and the engine oil is discharged from the exhaust valve. When such a failure occurs, the valves will be damaged seriously due to the organic oil in the gas circuit. If the oil flows out from the drainage of the gas cylinder, try to replace the piston, piston ring and cylinder of the air compressor to keep the gap normal.
8. Early wear and gas leakage of cylinder liners is also the reason for the high fuel consumption.
