In cold areas or winter, the major problem facing the operation Many customers ignore such details, so Jiangsu Haixing Power will check it out for everyone. from the selection of of generator sets is water circulation. A comprehensive analysis is made generator set cooler water to maintenance.
1. Clean 'soft water' is usually used for the unit cooler water. Soft water is usually rainwater, snowwater and riverwater. These waters contain little minerals and are suitable for engine use. The mineral content in well water, spring water and tap water is high. These minerals are easily deposited on the water tank wall, water jacket and water channel wall when heated, forming scale and rust, which makes the engine heat dissipation ability worse and easily leads to the engine overheating. The added water must be clean. The impurities contained in the water will block the waterway and aggravate the wear of components such as the pump impeller. If hard water is used, softening treatment must be carried out in advance. The softening methods usually include heating method and adding alkali liquid (commonly caustic soda).
2. Note: Do not start first and then add water. In winter, in order to facilitate starting, or because the water source is far away, some drivers often start first and then add water. This method is very harmful. After the engine is started, since there is no cooling water in the body, the engine components will heat up quickly, especially the temperature at the water jacket outside the cylinder head and the diesel engine fuel injector is particularly high. If cooling water is added at this time, the cylinder head and water jacket will easily cause cracks or deformation due to severity. When the engine temperature is too high, the engine load should be removed first and then idled at low speed, and when the water temperature is normal, cooling water should be added.
3. After the water is released in the cold winter, the engine must be turned idle. In the cold winter, after releasing the cooling water in the engine, the engine should be started to idle for a few minutes. This is mainly because some water may remain in the water pump and other parts after releasing. After starting again, the residual water in the water pump and other places can be dried by the temperature of the body to ensure that there is no water in the engine and prevent water leakage from the pump freezing and tearing the water seal.
4. Water should be heated in cold areas or winter. Cold weather makes it difficult for the engine to start. If cold water is added before starting, it is easy to freeze during the water addition process or when the water is not started in time after adding water, it is easy to freeze in the water drain room and the water inlet pipe, causing the water to be unable to circulate and even causing the water tank to swell and crack. Adding hot water can increase the engine temperature and facilitate starting; on the other hand, you can try to avoid the above freezing phenomenon.
5. When 'opening the pot', prevent burns. After the water tank is 'opened', do not blindly open the water tank cover to prevent burns. The correct way is: idling at a speed for a while before turning off the engine, and then unscrew the water tank cover after the engine temperature drops and the water tank pressure drops. When unscrew, cover the cover with a towel or a car cloth to prevent hot water and steam from spraying onto your face and body. Never look downwards the head facing the water tank. After unscrewing, withdraw your hand quickly. When there is no hot or steam, remove the water tank cover to prevent scalding.
6. The antifreeze must be of good quality. At present, the quality of antifreeze on the market is uneven, and many of them are inferior. If the antifreeze does not contain preservatives, it will seriously corrode the engine cylinder head, water jacket, radiator, water blocking ring, rubber parts and other components, and at the same time generate a large amount of scale, causing poor engine heat dissipation and causing engine overheating failure. Therefore, products from regular manufacturers should be selected.
7. Replenish soft water in time. After filling the antifreeze in the water tank, if the liquid level of the water tank is found to be lowered, on the premise of ensuring no leakage, you only need to add clean soft water (distilled water is better), because the boiling point of the generally used ethylene glycol antifreeze is high, and the moisture in the antifreeze is evaporated. There is no need to replenish antifreeze but just add soft water. It is worth mentioning: Never add unsoftened hard water.
8. Timely discharge antifreeze to reduce corrosion.
Whether it is an ordinary antifreeze or a long-acting antifreeze, it should be released in time when the temperature increases, so as to prevent corrosion of the machine parts. Because the preservative added to the antifreeze will gradually decrease or fail as the use time is extended, and some may not add the preservative, which will have a strong corrosive effect on the machine parts. Therefore, the antifreeze should be released in time according to the temperature, and the cooling pipeline should be cleaned after the antifreeze is released.
9. Change water regularly and clean the pipeline. It is not recommended to change the cooling water frequently, because after a period of use, the minerals have precipitated. Unless the water is already dirty and may block the pipeline and radiator, do not replace it easily, because even if the newly replaced cooling water has been softened, it still contains minerals, which will deposit in the water jacket and other places to form scale. The more frequently the water is replaced, the more minerals precipitated, the thicker the scale. Therefore, the cooling water should be replaced regularly according to the actual situation. The cooling pipeline should be cleaned during replacement, and the cleaning liquid can be prepared by caustic soda, kerosene and water. At the same time, maintain all water drain switches, especially before winter, replace damaged switches in time, and do not replace them with bolts, wooden sticks, rags, etc.
10. Open the water tank cover when draining water. If the water tank cover is not opened when draining water, although part of the cooling water can flow out, as the amount of water in the radiator decreases, the water tank will be sealed, which will slow down or stop the water flow. In winter, the machine parts will be frozen due to impure drainage.
11. Do not release water immediately during high temperatures. Before the engine is turned off, if the engine temperature is very high, do not stop the engine and release water immediately. The load should be removed first to make it run at idle speed and release water when the water temperature drops to 40-50℃ to prevent the temperature of the outer surface of the cylinder, cylinder head and water jacket in contact with the water from suddenly dropping and shrinking sharply. The temperature inside the cylinder is still very high and shrinking, which is very easy to cause cracks in the cylinder and cylinder head due to excessive internal and external temperature difference.
