In the Cummins generator set repair station, Jiangsu Haixing Power Technology Company found that the problem of the repaired unit is caused by the low oil pressure of the unit or the non-circulation of the coolant. Therefore, Haixing generator set maintenance technicians reminded customers to pay attention to some details to prevent major problems such as cylinder pulling and leakage.
1: Low oil pressure
When the unit is running, the low oil pressure will cause poor lubrication of the transmission parts of the unit. If the oil circuit is blocked, the cylinder pulling, holding the cylinder, and bearing gap will also occur, which will directly affect the normal use of the Cummins generator set.
(1) Cooling system: The engine oil cooler is blocked; the outer space of the radiator core is blocked.
(2) Lubrication system: the oil filter is dirty; the oil suction pipe is blocked; the oil pressure regulator fails.
(3) Mechanical adjustment and repair; improper bearing clearance; engine needs to be overhauled; main bearing or connecting rod bearing is damaged.
(4) Use and maintenance: The engine is overloaded; the oil must be replaced on time, and the correct use of the oil filter element must be ensured. Only by following the correct maintenance method can the normal use of Cummins generator sets be ensured.

2: When the coolant is not circulated,
the coolant is often not circulated during the unit operation, including large circulation, no small circulation, or small circulation without large circulation, which causes the unit to experience rapid cylinder temperature rise and oil temperature rise, resulting in sudden shutdown, etc., which directly affects the use of Cummins generator set .
There are several reasons why the coolant does not circulate:
(1) The radiator radiator fin is blocked or damaged. The cooling fan does not work or the heat sink is blocked, causing the coolant temperature to not drop, the heat sink is rusted, causing liquid leakage, and may also cause poor circulation.
(2) Thermostat failure. The engine combustion chamber is equipped with a thermostat, which is designed to control the engine combustion chamber temperature. The thermostat must be turned on at the specified temperature (82 degrees) to facilitate small circulation. If there is no thermostat, the coolant cannot maintain the circulation temperature, which may cause a low temperature alarm.
(3) Air is mixed in the unit cooling system, causing the pipeline to be poor, and damage to the suction valve and exhaust valve on the expansion water tank will also directly affect the circulation. At this time, it should be checked frequently whether their pressure values ​​comply with the regulations. The suction pressure is 10kpa and the exhaust pressure is 40kpa. In addition to this, whether the exhaust pipeline is unobstructed is also an important reason for affecting the circulation.
(4) The cooling liquid level is too low or does not comply with the regulations. If the liquid level is too low, it can directly cause the coolant to rise and the coolant will not circulate. The coolant is 50% antifreeze + 50% softened water + DCA4 according to regulations. If the regulations do not comply with the regulations, it will cause the pipeline to be blocked and rust will occur in the pipe wall, making the coolant unable to circulate normally.
(5) Water pump failure. Check whether the water pump is effective. If it is found that the water pump transmission gear shaft is worn for more than the limit, it means that the water pump has no effect and needs to be replaced before the circulation is normal.
