According to news reports, Qingdao City has built and operated a total of 23 sewage treatment plants with a total treatment capacity of 1.7 million cubic meters per day. The annual biogas power generation of Maidao Sewage Treatment Plant is more than 9 million kilowatt-hours. The rest of the biogas is heated through gas boilers for heating the digestion process and the plant's employees' showers, winter heating and other daily use to balance the waste heat shortage, which is equivalent to saving nearly one million cubic meters of natural gas every year. Since the plant was put into operation, it has not purchased fuel in terms of process operation. Over the past seven years, Maidao Factory has reduced carbon dust emissions by 16,255.27 tons, CO2 emissions by 58,387.51 tons, SO2 emissions by 1,792.86 tons, and nitrogen oxide emissions by 896.43 tons, with extremely considerable environmental benefits.
