During the troubleshooting process, the following four principles should be followed:

1. The judgment of faults should be analyzed from the overall perspective. The faults should be comprehensive.

The systems, components and parts of the diesel generator set are closely related. If a component, system or part fails, other systems, components or parts will inevitably be involved. Therefore, a fault phenomenon cannot be viewed in isolation. The cause of the fault should be analyzed from the overall perspective and the fault should be promptly discharged.

2. When searching for failure of diesel generator sets, disassembly should be minimized as much as possible

. When troubleshooting, the components of the diesel generator set cannot be blindly disassembled. Before disassembly, the structure, working principle, fault location, etc. of the diesel generator set must be understood first. Only on the basis of scientific and careful analysis can the disassembly be carried out.

For example: When a diesel generator set is running, if there is a failure of burning the engine oil, if it is not determined what the cause or the damage caused by burning the engine oil and blindly disassemble it, this will not only extend the time for troubleshooting, but may instead change the relative position of other parts. Therefore, when troubleshooting the failure of the diesel generator set, it is necessary to clarify which part or system is faulty before repairing it to prevent blindly and randomly. The correct approach is to remove as few parts of the diesel generator set as possible when looking for a fault.

3. When finding faults, you must be careful and check them in combination with watching, listening, touching and sniffing.

4. When troubleshooting, you must classify and search according to the major systems of the diesel generator set.

Diesel generator sets can be divided into two parts: diesel engine and generator. The diesel engine has two major components and five major systems. The two major components are the fixed and fixed components of the diesel engine. For example, the cylinder head, cylinder block, cylinder liner, etc. are fixed and fixed components, while the piston, connecting rod, and crankshaft are relative moving components. The five major systems are: fuel system, lubrication system, cooling system, gas distribution system, startup and charging system.

The generator consists of a stator, a rotor, an automatic voltage regulating device and a transmission control part. The relationship between the stator and the rotor is that the generator rotor must be passed through DC power to form a fixed magnetic pole. When the rotor rotates, the stator cuts the magnetic lines and generates an alternating voltage. The function of the generator automatic voltage regulating device is to make the generator terminal voltage constant when the generator load increases (or decreases) the excitation current. The major systems and components of these generators, no matter which system or component failure occurs, will cause the diesel generator set to fail to work properly.
